Information
General rubbish needs to be in the correct yellow Wellington City Council rubbish bags that can be bought at the supermarket.​

Recycling material needs to be separated into the following: 

1. Cardboard, tin, paper & plastic needs to be put in clear bags that can be collected at the Council or libraries.

2. Glass placed in a WCC green bin

The WCC alternates weekly between collecting glass in the green WCC bins, to collecting plastics, tins, cans, cardboard & paper in WCC clear recycling bags

If rubbish / recycling is disposed of incorrectly you will be charged $100 per bag as per your tenancy agreement you signed to cover the cost of collecting and disposing of the rubbish & recycling.

Rubbish

Rubbish gets collected every day before 8am, so put it out early or the night before  by the roadside.

Recycling

Recycling gets collected every TUESDAY before 8am. So put it out early on Tuesday or on Monday night by the roadside.

Thorndon & Wilton 

Rubbish & recycling gets collected every Tuesday before 8am, so put it out early or on Monday night by the roadside.

Kilbirnie

Rubbish & recycling gets collected every Friday before 8am, so put it out early or on Thursday night by the roadside.

My Victoria & Oriental Bay

Rubbish & recycling gets collected every Thursday before 8am, so put it out early or on Wednesday night and put it out by the roadside.​
